Maverick, a Framer template by Leandro Melo, is a dark, photo-led portfolio for a designer or small studio. It opens on pure black with the name in a huge, widely spaced Switzer wordmark, while moody photos are scattered around it, from a cocktail glass to a wristwatch on bark. The navigation is just Expertises, About and Works, each with a pair of square brackets in front, and the Get in Touch button on the right has its label scrolling inside the pill like a tiny ticker.
After a short intro and a line of client names, the work takes over. Each project is a full-width photo band with a discipline and a year in the corner and the project name set huge in white underneath. An Expertises row of outlined cards with thin plus marks follows, then an about statement, and then the page flips to white for an All Projects index: one plain row per project with its discipline, year and a plus sign. The footer comes back to black with the wordmark and an email link. Once you scroll, the header moves into a floating translucent bar near the bottom of the screen. Project pages open on the name in giant type. We like that white index, a calm way to scan the work after all that dark photography.
On a 390px phone the wordmark still spans the width over a single tall photo, and the navigation drops to a small bar with a menu icon.
We'd pick it for an art director or photographer with strong, cinematic images. The demo gives every project a year far in the future, so rewrite those details along with the case study copy before you publish.
Based on the live demo, viewed on desktop and on a phone. The Design and Dev scores come from separate independent reviews. See how we score templates.
