Good to know

The Short Answer

As of 12 October 2026: choose Shopify if you sell products. It is the only one of the three with a cart and checkout on every plan, from $29 a month billed yearly.

Choose Framer for the lowest price. Framer Basic is $10 a month billed yearly and includes a blog of up to 1,000 posts, but Framer has no built-in checkout, no page redirects on Basic and no supported way to export your site.

Choose Webflow for a site with lots of content that will keep growing. Webflow Premium is $25 a month billed yearly and holds 20,000 posts and other items, but Webflow takes longer to learn, and team seats ($39 each), extra languages ($9 each) and visitor stats (from $9) cost extra.

How We Compare

Every fact comes from the platform's own pricing page or help centre. A tick means it's included at no extra cost, a dash means it's limited or costs extra, and a cross means it isn't available. Prices are in US dollars.

"Best fit" comes from your answers. Each one is checked against the facts in the table: doing something fully counts for more than doing it partly, what you're building counts most, and a platform that can't do something you need is never the best fit. The best fit moves to the left and the weakest to the right. You can download every fact with its source.

What Changed in 2026

Webflow merged its CMS and Business plans into one Premium plan on 13 May 2026. Framer retired its Scale plan and cut editor seats to $20 on 16 June 2026. Shopify raised its limit to 2,048 variants per product on 15 October 2025.

Questions

Framer. Its Basic plan is $10 a month billed yearly ($15 month to month) and includes a blog. Webflow's Basic plan is $15 ($25 month to month) and has no blog, so a Webflow site with a blog needs Premium at $25 ($39 month to month). Checked 12 October 2026.

Not on its own. Framer has no built-in cart or checkout. Its marketplace lists outside tools that add one, and each sets its own price and fees. If selling is the point of your site, Shopify has a full store on every plan and Webflow has separate store plans.

Usually not. Shopify works for a simple site, but its cheapest plan is $29 a month billed yearly, against $10 on Framer and $15 on Webflow, and you would be paying for selling tools you never use. Design changes beyond a theme's sections also need code.

Of the two design tools, Framer. Webflow says on its own comparison page that it will likely take more time to learn than Framer. Shopify's editor is simple, but opening a store means setting up products, payments and shipping. Nobody publishes a measured learning time for any of them, so we don't quote one.

Partly, and it differs by platform. Webflow exports your pages as code if you have a paid workspace (from $16 a month billed yearly), but the blog and store don't come with it; content exports as a spreadsheet file. Shopify exports products and orders as spreadsheet files, and its themes only run on Shopify. Framer has no supported way to export a site.

Every fact was checked on 12 October 2026 against the platform's own pricing page or help centre. Webflow and Framer both changed their plans in 2026, so older comparisons are often wrong. Check the platform's own page before you buy.
